The Translational Research Core Laboratory (TRCL) was established in 2002 to facilitate the excellence of translational research in pulmonary medicine. The TRCL was formed to provide sample processing, biobanking, biomarker, genetic and molecular analysis resources, services, operations, and training to support the planning and implementation of translational and clinical research in the Division of Pulmonary, Allergy, and Critical Care Medicine (PACCM) at the University of Pittsburgh.
Goals
- To provide guidance to determine the best procedures for conducting clinical and translational research involving biospecimen repository and molecular analysis;
- To support investigators and their team for early translational research through essential expert consultation for biorepository and molecular analysis;
- To provide technical support for clinical trials conducted by investigators at PACCM;
- To provide infrastructure and resources to facilitate biomarker, genetic and molecular analysis for basic, translational, and clinical research;
- To provide educational resources to investigators on biorepository, biomarker, genetic and molecular analysis for translational and clinical research.
